About Me

The Short Version

I received my Web Design and Development Certification in May, 2022. I have a strong passion and talent for web development and all the technologies that go into it. I am continually learning new skills that assist in the development of modern web design. I am looking for a job where I can utilize my skills and creative abilities and apply them to future projects.

The Slightly Longer Version

I have spent most of my professional life in the Hospitality Industry in multiple capacities. For the past decade, I have worked in luxury hotels as a Sales Manager, where the experiences I acquired are readily transferrable to many other employment situations. I learned how to effectively manage staff, multitask in high-paced environments and work with all departments to ensure that projects and events run smoothly.

When Covid-19 caused the Hospitality Industry to cut back, I began to consider other career options. I have always had a love for computers and design. I decided to study Web Development and discovered that I have a real passion and natural ability for this field. It is amazing to watch an idea become a reality.

My first job in Web Development was in the digital fundraising industry. It was not something that I seeked out, as I am pretty neutral when it comes to politics. Although I didn't agree with many of the things that were sent out, I treated every client with the utmost respect, and worked hard to create well designed websites and email campaigns. I truly enjoyed the creative aspect of my job and hope to find something less political to continue my passion.

I am eager and open to learning new skills that can be applied to website design and am actively pursuing more information and inspiration each day through video instruction and personal study. I am particularly drawn to the "minimalistic" design direction that web development is taking.
